چکیده

Abstract This paper proposes a novel design of software-defined matched filter (MF) for digital receivers synthetic aperture radar (SAR). The block diagram the proposed receiver is described in detail. purpose this to produce SAR pulse with higher compression ratio (CR) and lower side lobe level (SLL) than that produced by conventional MF. based on idea time windowing construct transfer function filter. shape time-domain window optimized achieve goals including minimization SLL realization target value CR. transmitted is, first, subjected linear frequency modulation then window. width (time duration) divided into equal intervals. constructed as sequential continuous piecewise segments. instantaneous at start each interval so optimization goals. shown be proportional compressed after optimization. number intervals which duration have significant effect results. particle swarm (PSO) technique applied get minimizes specific predetermined It iterations PSO are fastly convergent algorithm computationally efficient. Also, it desired CR achieved accuracy 100%. Moreover, SLLs about ? $$65\,\mathrm{dB}$$ 65 dB , $$- 90\,\mathrm{dB}$$ - 90 114\,\mathrm{dB}$$ 114 133\,\mathrm{dB}$$ 133 5, 3, 2, 1.5, respectively. Finally, practical implementation introduced processing technique, placed building system.

Extending the Radar Dynamic Range using Adaptive Pulse Compression

The matched filter in the radar receiver is only adapted to the transmitted signal version and its output will be wasted due to non-matching with the received signal from the environment. The sidelobes amplitude of the matched filter output in pulse compression radars are dependent on the transmitted coded waveforms that extended as much as the length of the code on both sides of the target loc...

Chapter 10 Pulse Compression Radar

10.1 INTRODUCTION Pulse compression involves the transmission of a long coded pulse and the processing of the received echo to obtain a relatively narrow pulse. The increased detection capability of a long-pulse radar system is achieved while retaining the range resolution capability of a narrow-pulse system. Several advantages are obtained. Transmission of long pulses permits a more efficient ...

Pulse Compression Method for Radar Signal Processing

One fundamental issue in designing a good radar system is it’s capability to resolve two small targets that are located at long range with very small separation between them. Pulse compression techniques are used in radar systems to avail the benefits of large range detection capability of long duration pulse and high range resolution capability of short duration pulse. In these techniques a lo...

High Resolution Weather Radar through Pulse Compression

In order to evaluate pulse compression for use in phased array weather radar systems, modifications to the Time-Series Weather Radar Simulator have been made which incorporate phase-coding into its functionality. This allows for evaluating the performance of various pulse compression schemes under controlled conditions. Barker-coded pulses with matched and mismatched filters were examined in re...

Low Power LFM Pulse Compression RADAR with Sidelobe suppression M

One of the parameters of the pulsed RADAR that contributes range capability is the average power of the transmitter. The average power can be increased by increasing the peak power or transmitted pulse width or both. The complexity in the design of transmitter components to withstand high peak power is the most challenging task. On the other hand larger transmitted pulse width affects the RADAR...
